Beef Kala Vuna:

















Beef kala vuna is a very delicious Bengali Recipe. Its Looking a little bit different From Others Beef vhuna. Its Specially Cook in Chittagong. Its looks little bit black so it's called ''Kala Vhuna''. If you Want to cook this dish you can follow my recipe.

Beef Kala vhuna Recipe:


Preparation time : 30 mins
Cooking time : 2.5 hours
serve : 5 person.


Ingredients :

  1. Beef  (boneless beef) - 1 kg
  2. Oil - 1 cup
  3. Chili powder - 2 tbs
  4. Turmeric powder - 2 tbs
  5. Ginger paste - 2 tbs
  6. Garlic paste - 2 tbs
  7. Plain yogurt - 1/2 cup
  8. Onion cube - 1 cup
  9. Green chili - 8 or 10 
  10. Roasted onion ( barasta) -1/2 cup
  11. Dark soya sauce - 1/4 cup
  12. Mace powder - a little bit
  13. nutmeg powder - 1/3 tsp
  14. cinnamon, cumin, cardamom, black pepper,  ( powder mixed ) - 2 tsp
  15. Bay leaves - 2 or 3 
  16. Salt - as per needed
  17. Water - 2 cups

Cooking instruction:


  1. Cut the beef into small pieces.
  2. Clean the chicken properly and drain water as much as possible.
  3. Now place beef into cooking pan and mixed turmeric, chili, yogurt, roasted onion, garlic, ginger,1/4 cup oil,salt and dark soya sauce.
  4. keep it 30 mins for marination.
  5. then place it on stove and stir it properly.
  6. Add 2 cups of water and cover it with a lid.
  7. Remember after few mins you must stir beef otherwise it's burn.
  8. Cooked around 2 hours at low medium heat. 
  9. Add nutmeg,mace, Garam masala powder,Black pepper,cumin power.
  10. Next step is take another pan place it on stove 
  11. Add 1 cup of oil, add bay leaves, cardamon (whole),cinnamon(whole),
  12. Fry it few mins and add cooked beef in this pan,
  13. Cooked it around 30 mins until its color comes black.
  14. Then add cube onion, and green chili.
  15. Cook it 5 mins.

Its ready for serve. you can serve it with rice or  bread.
